Top 5 Christmas Horror Movies

For the holidays, I thought it would be the right time to say what my favorite Christmas horror movies are.

#5: Black Christmas (2006): I am aware that the original Black Christmas is the beloved classic. This is more of a list of the movies I watch the most. I appreciate that this movie is a mean-spirited gore-fest. It’s sort of a perfect antithesis for what we expect out of a Christmas movie. Even though this is not a good movie, I do legitimately enjoy it.

#4: Krampus: My favorite aspect to Krampus is its sense of humor. The cast really helps sell the movie too. It’s about a kid who accidentally summons Krampus after losing faith in the holiday. This is a movie with sort of a twisted sense of a moral, and look at how we should look at the holiday.

#3: Silent Night, Deadly Night: Here’s a movie that went down in infamy in the 80s. Much like the Black Christmas remake, I can’t quite call this a good movie. However, that’s kind of why I love this movie. There are a lot of fun, dumb, cheesy lines that I say a lot in my daily life.

#2: Better Watch Out: This sort of feels like Home Alone with a horror twist to it. Of course, I should also say that there’s a pretty good twist with who the movie’s villain is. This movie may also have one of my favorite kills in a horror movie ever.

#1: Gremlins: I find it interesting the most kid-friendly movie on this list is also the movie that takes the top spot. There is so much about this movie that I always remember. I remember the mother walking through the house with a Christmas carol playing in the background. I remember the dog strung up in Christmas lights
